Turn these questions into an activity. Divide
the class into groups of 2-3 and pass out one question per group. Give
time for the students to think of answers then share and debrief.
Your teacher seems to favor certain students, and your
grade is affected (you believe) because he/she doesn’t favor you.
- What do you do?
- Who should talk to?
A
teacher accuses you of cheating on a test, and punishes you by giving you a
zero. You know that you didn’t cheat, and that you were falsely accused.
- How would you go about resolving this issue?
If
you are involved in a sport, and you need extra help from a teacher, and your
coach will not excuse you from practice, what should you do?
- Would skip practice for help, or ditch help for
practice?
You
know of a friend who is in trouble (i.e. family troubles, or an eating disorder,
etc.) He/she denies it, and you don’t know what to do.
- Who should you go to talk to?

- Assist in asking good follow-up
questions and prompting students to think about their answers and why
they are important
